"I remember when Perrier got really fashionable in Australia about 30 years ago.  Met my then landlord in town for lunch and thought I was a bit posh drinking out of that fancy green bottle ... except the skin tight PVC pants, sneakers, spikey red hair and leopard print gave me away as a complete fraud."

And while I'm on the topic of James Franco, the opening credits for Freaks and Geeks where Daniel Desario poses for his school photo is killer. Gets me every time.

I've rarely been one for celebrity crushes, but I'll happily admit that Franco is a babe.

I almost bought Jean-Luc Godard's Made in the USA (starring Marianne Faithfull) today but opted for that film where John Malkovich plays a con slash Stanley Kubrick impersonator instead - I can't even recall the name right now. Anyway, as it turns out Jean-Luc Godard is still working. Come to think of it, I didn't even know he was still alive! His latest production / direction is the very experimental Film Socialisme which was entered into the Un Certain Regard category at Cannes. I just watched this four times consecutively and noticed something new and intriguing each time. Here goes number five. More here

The latest issue of Russh arrived in my mailbox today. They're usually pretty good at uncovering everything cool and making it different cool. Like, it's-cool-because-it's-in-Russh cool.
But Russh is cool.
And so is this article. He reminds me of Humbert Humbert from Lolita.

I've never been a huge follower of Jeremy Scott's take on fashion / anti fashion / blatant use of branding and self-promotion - and it's not because I thought for a moment that his style was unoriginal, but more so because I'm simply not the outrageous type who would wear his gear. And then I remembered BOY.
Boy was around in the 80s and I can only presume the brand was partially responsible for Scott's aesthetic. It's so wrong it's right.
